NS Department of Health & Wellness, Active Living Branch and the Municipality of the County of Victoria (Naturally Active–Physical Activity Strategy), along with their partners, proudly present the 1st Cape Breton Physical Activity Summit , June 5th & 6th at the beautiful Gaelic College in St Ann’s. Victoria County hosted their own on Dec. 2, 2013.

This two day conference will bring together those who are working to resolve the growing physical inactivity crisis. Anyone whose work touches physical activity for residents should count this among the must-attend events for 2014 in Cape Breton.

If you are looking to enhance the work you do at the municipal and community level to get residents more active, attending the Summit will give you the knowledge, tools and fresh insight that will help you maximize resources and build better policies, programs and campaigns to get residents moving. The Summit has been designed to provide you with a mix of success stories, evidence-based information sharing, and resources and actions to assist us in moving forward as a region.

Throughout the Summit, delegates will have the opportunity to meet and network with fellow passionate physical activity leaders, organizations (Municipal/Band councillors; CAOs; Doctors Nova Scotia; Sport Nova Scotia; Recreation staff; Parks and Grounds staff; After the Bell and Facility Access community partners; MPAL Strategy partners/committees; Public Health/DHA/CHBs; non-profit volunteer groups; school boards and provincial DHW staff) and service providers and learn from their successes and their challenges to engage ALL residents in physical activity.
