Winter is a wonderful time to walk. Don’t let cold, wind, snow or rain keep you and your friends/co-workers from heading out for a walk and social. Just dress for the weather. Enjoy the many opportunities to go for a walk during our beautiful Canadian Winter and have a chance to win some swag:

-Kate Oland Librarian at Baddeck Library will be leading a walk on Feb. 25 at noon leaving the Baddeck Library. For further information: http://www.ourbaddeck.com

-Resident Leona Stockley will lead a walk on Feb. 25 at 9 am leaving from the North Victoria Library. For further information, please contact

-We also encourages workplaces to lead a walk. Victoria County Municipal employees will be walking this day led by Cyndi Ingraham (Community Physical Activity Leaders Outreach Coordinator).

Winter Walk Day is a partnership between Naturally Active Victoria County, Victoria County, Cape Breton Regional Library, CBVRSB, Active & Safe Routes to School, Heart & Stroke Walkabout™, and Take The Roof Off Winter. Take the Roof Off Winter is brought to you by Recreation Nova Scotia encouraging residents of all ages to winter walk in Victoria County on February 25th.
