NS Trails is gearing up to celebrate our amazing volunteers for their hard work and dedication to our trails! Help us recognize volunteers around the province by nominating your local trail champion(s) for one of our five categories:
Volunteer Trail Group of the Year Award Recognizes the accomplishments of a volunteer trail group within the trail movement in Nova Scotia with regards to trail development, management, promotion and/or advocacy. Nominees must belong to a NS Trails member organization.
Booster Award Recognizes a volunteer group for their promotion of trails and/or trail activities through organized events, learning opportunities, guided trail activities and media engagement targeting men, women, youth and families. Nominees must belong to a NS Trails member organization.
Champion for Youth Award Recognizes an individual, community group, agency or business for the promotion of youth participation on trails in Nova Scotia. Nominations are open to NS Trails members and the general public.
Trail Builder of the Year Award Recognizes a volunteer for their outstanding contribution, determination and dedication to trail building in the province. Nominees must belong to a NS Trails member organization.
White Hill Summit Award Named after the highest point of land in Nova Scotia, this award recognizes the outstanding lifetime contribution to the development of recreational trails in Nova Scotia by a volunteer.
How to Nominate:
Email firstname.lastname@example.org and include the following:
- Nominee’s name
- The award they are being nominated for
- Your contact information (i.e. the person submitting the nomination)
- The reason you are nominating this individual or group (i.e. why they deserve the award)
- Contact information for the nominee
Nominations must be submitted before Tuesday, May 15th. Winners will be announced at the NS Trails Annual General Meeting on June 16, 2018.
