WomenActive Nova Scotia Association (WANSA) is a non-profit organization established in 2015, with the aim of increasing opportunities for women and girls in sport, recreation, and physical activity.  Working in cooperation with the Nova Scotia Government, Sport Nova Scotia, and Recreation Nova Scotia, WANSA strives to create a culture where females are active, encouraged, supported, and celebrated for participating in sport, recreation, and physical activity.

WANSA is currently in the process of gathering data from a broad range of stakeholders that will assist us in setting priorities for our work plan. There is much work to be done with limited resources so we are seeking your input as to where resources can be most effectively utilized. It is important to hear your feedback and therefore we ask for a few minutes of your valuable time to fill out the survey.  Further we invite you to share this survey with others, regardless of gender.  All responses are anonymous and will be kept strictly confidential.

Gender Equity is described as “allocating resources, programs and decision-making fairly to both males and females”.  This requires that everyone has access to the benefits of sport, recreation, physical activity and leadershipopportunities.

Please email survey responses (or if you have any questions ) to Karen MacTavish at karenmactavish@gmail.com   Hard copies of the survey can also be mailed to Recreation Nova Scotia, 1492 St. Margaret’s bay Road, Lakeside, NS., B3J 1A9

If you prefer to fill out online, the survey link is:
