Victoria County Leaders Nearing Completion of YMCA Older Adult Fitness Certification
The last meeting of the YMCA Older Adult Fitness Certification was last night (Sept. 20, 2016) and it all went smooth. They have a plan in place to finish up the final assessments in the next few weeks and then their certifications will be complete

Fee: Only $225 – Victoria County Leaders will be supported by Naturally Active Victoria County (Est. 2011) Physical Activity Strategy with Leadership Development Assistance Funding. Participants from other areas of Cape Breton are asked to check with their local Municipality, Mi’Kmaw First Nation Community and/or Your Community for Leadership Development Assistance to support your participation in this beneficial course.
Naturally Active Victoria County Proud To Host 1st Rural NEW YMCA Older Adult Certification Course
We are Certifying YMCA leaders for the delivery of older adult fitness programs in rural Cape Breton communities
The fee will be only $225 per participant (HST included). This covers all costs & course materials (Leaders of Victoria County Programs are encouraged to contact Vince Forrestall for Leadership Assistance Funding to participate supported by the Victoria County Physical Activity Strategy)
The training programs would have a maximum of 12 candidates, with a minimum of six registrants required. The certification requires 40 hours of instruction, which will be spread over 3-4 weekends, and individual study
To be fully certified, instructors will also require first aid & CPR certification, offered separately

Please note – May 21st is the long weekend, So I think I will be able to cover enough just with the other days and just cancel that one, or I could use June 4th for material and we can figure something else out for the final assessments.
