North Highlands Nordic has Closed for the Season 

Alas, we’re finally thinking Spring (April 4, 2017).  It’s been a good three months with lots of snow and many happy users of the trails in Cape North.  Thank to all for your support.  See you on the trails again next winter 2018!.

North Highlands Nordic in Cape North Open for the 2017 Season

The ski room is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm. The trails are groomed for classic and skate skiing and are in good to very good condidtion.

HELD – Cool Saturdays!

North Highlands Nordic, in Partnership with Naturally Active for Life Victoria County, sponsored a FREE use of the facilities, trails and rental equipment at North Highlands Nordic every Saturday afternoon until March 25, 2017, 1-4 pm free of charge to all students grades 6-12 who attend Cabot Education Centre. HELD – Attention all Cross Country Ski Enthusiasts:

The North Highlands Nordic Annual Loppet will take place on Sunday, March 12.  This event has taken place without interruption for over 25 years. There is a distance to suit every level of ability. A meal and draw prizes are included in the registration fee.  Information can be found on the North Highlands Nordic website: nhn.xcski.ca or phone the room at 902- 383-2479. It would be wonderful to see skiers come out who have participated in past Loppets.  After all, it is “participaction” at its finest.

January  2017- A Successful Month at NHN

North Highlands Nordic has had 796 visitors in January! We are wishing for another incredible month this February!
A sincere thank you to everyone who has supported us thus far, all of our season pass holders, visitors, and voluteers, and groomers!!
Don’t forget the ski room has sitting and eating areas, and we now offer a group rate of six or more individuals, which all rates are half off!!
We hope to see you very soon!

 Moonlight Adventure HELD

North Highlands Nordic, Cape North in Partnership with Recreation & Tourism, Victoria County will hold a Moonlight Adventure this Friday, January 13, 2017
$5.00 for rentals, $5.00 for pass for non season pass holders. Participants are encouraged to bring munchies and liquid refreshments.
Any adults interested in walking/snowshoeing/skiing on the trails by the light of the moon are asked to meet by 7:30 pm in the “Greeting Room”.

Adult Tea & Ski

The Popular Adult Tea & Ski every Tuesday on the trails at North Highlands Nordic, Cape North in Partnership with Recreation & Tourism, Victoria County. Participants are asked to gather at the ski room on Tuesdays by 10:30 am to go out for a snowshoe or ski, followed by tea. $5.00 for trail pass and $5.00 for rentals. 2016 Provincial Cross Country Ski Championships Held Jan 30 & 31 at North Highlands Nordic, Cape North

“Cross country ski enthusiasts were encouraged to participate in or spectate at the Provincial Cross Country Ski Championships at North Highlands Nordic in Cape North held the weekend of January 30, 31, 2016. The classic race took place on Saturday and the skate race on Sunday. There was even a “Recreation” category.

SKI & TEA This group ski/snowshoe program happens on Tuedays from 10 am till 12 noon and is open to all adults. Take advantage of instructional guided tours – ski, snowshoe or walk . . . just clock some kilometers one way or another, then gather in the ski room for tea time!!

  • Moonlight Ski, Snowshoe – Next Moonlight ski is tentatively scheduled for Saturday February 20, 2016 at 7:00 pm for adults only.
