CANADIAN TIRE JUMPSTART PROGRAM

The Jumpstart program is a national charitable program that helps financially disadvantaged children participate in organized sport and recreation. The program helps to cover registration fees, equipment, and/or transportation costs. You can apply at any time through the year (Effective January 16, 2017).

Funding Guidelines

1. For children aged 4 – 18 years old.

2. Open to individual children, not groups or teams.

3. Funding available for multiple children within the same family for the same season.

4. Funds awarded for registration fees, equipment and/or transportation costs.

5. Funding up to $300 per child per application.

6. Children can apply for successive seasons in an activity, up to a maximum of $600.

7. To receive assistance for equipment, the applicant must show proof of registration.

8. Cheques are made payable to a league, association or club. Cheques for equipment are made payable to a sporting goods retailer.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart helps financial disadvantaged kids get involved in organizaed sport and recreation by covering the costs of registration, equipment, and/or transportation.

Helps children get physically active, build social skills, boost self-esteem and confidence, all toward our mission of creating a better quality of life.

Jumpstart Charities for Jumpstart’s Play Finds A Way Movement

Helps remove barriers to sport and play for kids with disabilities. One of the key programs within Play Finds A Way is the Jumpstart Accessibility Grants, which are intended for construction and renovations to improve accessibility to recreation facilities such as rinks, pools and community centres in communities across Canada.

Jumpstart Accessibility Grants offer two funding streams: Accessibility-Enabling Grants, which provide eligible facilities with up to $50,000 for projects to adapt and enhance existing facilities, and Inclusive Design Innovation Grants, which provide between $250,000 and $1,000,000 for projects designed to uniquely enhance sport and recreation spaces with innovative solutions.

We are excited to share with you that grant applications for both funding streams are now open for eligible organizations until March 16, 2018 and we encourage you to share with your contacts. The Big Play Funding – Hockey Season

June 6, 2016 – Jumpstart began accepting electronic applications for The Big Play funding for the hockey season.

Parents or guardians who inquire about funding for hockey for their children should be directed to apply online at jumpstart.canadiantire.ca for funding through The Big Play if they qualify for financial assistance. You cannot create a manual submission for them for this funding.

KidSport Program

A national children’s program that helps children overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. The KidSportJ program believes that no child should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports.

The next deadline is March 1. Future deadlines are: May 1, July 1, September 1, November 1, January 1.

Funding Guidelines

1. Funding is granted for registration fees and equipment costs only.

2. Total funding will not exceed $300. Funding for equipment only will not exceed $200.

3. A child can only receive one KidsportJ grant in any calendar year.

4. Preference is given to athletes who are being introduced into organized sport for the first time.

5. Cheques for registration funding will be made payable to a league, association or club. Cheques/ vouchers for equipment will be made payable to a sporting goods retailer. (KidSportJ reserves the right to request proof of purchase.)

Managed and operated in Nova Scotia by Sport Nova Scotia since 1994, KidSport Nova Scotia has assisted over 24,000 children totalling over $5.5 Million. KidSport Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment.

KidSport is a national children’s program that helps kids overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport.
