Seawall Trail Society

The Seawall Trail Society is planning the route for a multi-day hiking trail it hopes to cut through remote northern Cape Breton. Information Morning – Cape Breton gets an update on the Seawall Trail Project from Dave Williams, a member of the volunteer board:


This group has proposed a Hiking trail from Meat Cove to Pleasant Bay (Through the Polletts Cove / Aspy Fault Protected Area). It is a glorious idea in a beautiful spot. Have a look at their website at

Hello Everyone, Dave here with the Seawall Trail.  We’re excited to announce that on July 10th we’ll be holding a Trail Head Hike and Lobster Boil fundraiser!

Trailgate Canada 150

  • Help out your local community trail group
  • All equipment and guidance on trail maintenance provided
  • Enjoy a “trailgate” party with barbeque and cake to celebrate Canada’s 150th

Time: 9 am to 1 pm
Location: Seawall Trail Head, Meat Cove (meet at the Community Centre at 2296, Meat Cove Road)
Partners: Hike NS, Canada 150, Seawall Trail Society and Meat Cove Development Society
Description: Come work on the trailhead to the proposed Seawall Trail. Once completed, the Seawall Trail will be a multi-day, wilderness area, hiking trail. Developing the trailhead is the first step.
